Addressing the Triple Planetary Crisis for Sustainable Aquatic Environment, Resilient Economies and Communities

Welcome Message
The CFCE 2025 brings together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and stakeholders from across the African continent and beyond to advance sustainable solutions for Africa’s marine, coastal and freshwater environments.
Following three successful conferences in Ghana, this year’s event builds on that strong foundation, expanding its focus to address challenges that go beyond national borders. With the Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the African Union playing a key role. CFCE 2025 underscores the growing continental commitment to blue economic governance, ocean resilience, and sustainable resource management.
Under the theme “Addressing the Triple Planetary Crisis for Sustainable Aquatic Environments, Resilient Economies, and Communities,” CFCE 2025 is a call to action. Key discussions will explore sustainable fisheries, ocean and freshwater resources governance, maritime security, and climate resilience, ensuring Africa’s coastal resources drive long-term economic and environmental sustainability among others.
Join us in shaping the future of Africa’s oceans and coastal communities.
