Visa Application Requirements for Tanzania
To apply for a visa to Tanzania, travelers need a valid passport (with at least six months' validity and two blank pages), a completed online application form, a recent passport-sized photo, and a return or onward flight ticket (recommended).

The Ordinary (Tourist) Visa
- A single-entry visa valid for up to three months, intended for travelers visiting Tanzania for holidays, leisure, or other non-business purposes.

- Designed for individuals who need to enter Tanzania frequently, this visa requires evidence of frequent travel, such as a covering letter from the host institution or family member.

- Issued to individuals intending to conduct short-term business activities in Tanzania, valid for up to three months. Applicants must provide a work contract or a covering letter from the host institution detailing the specific assignment and its duration.

- For travelers passing through Tanzania to another destination, this visa is valid for a maximum of seven days. Applicants must present an onward ticket and, if required, an entry visa to the next country.

Vaccination Requirements
Travelers to Tanzania must provide proof of yellow fever vaccination if arriving from or having transited through countries with a risk of yellow fever. Direct arrivals from the United States, without extended layovers in endemic regions, are exempt from this requirement.
A comprehensive list of affected countries is available on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website. Individuals advised against the vaccine due to medical conditions or age (over 60) should carry a doctor's exemption letter to present to immigration officials.
Additionally, vaccinations for Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Typhoid, Hepatitis A and B, Malaria, Rabies, and Meningitis are commonly recommended for travelers to Africa.
