Vaccination Requirements

Travelers to Tanzania must provide proof of yellow fever vaccination if arriving from or having transited through countries with a risk of yellow fever. Direct arrivals from the United States, without extended layovers in endemic regions, are exempt from this requirement.

A comprehensive list of affected countries is available on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website. Individuals advised against the vaccine due to medical conditions or age (over 60) should carry a doctor's exemption letter to present to immigration officials.

Additionally, vaccinations for Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Typhoid, Hepatitis A and B, Malaria, Rabies, and Meningitis are commonly recommended for travelers to Africa.

It's advisable to consult with a healthcare provider approximately six weeks before departure to determine appropriate immunizations
